Is it possible to convert an external hard drive to a network hard drive? If so, how will it be done?
I have an external hard drive connected to my laptop. But when I disconnect my laptop from the external HDD becomes very problematic to access files on my external hard drive. Thus I want to know if you can turn it into a network hard drive via a router or otherwise so that I can still access the files on my external hard drive through LAN network when my laptop is unplugged from the external hard drive. If possible I would love to know how his can be done and the device data I need.
Linksys makes a decent NAS (storage network access) is cheap. They are available almost anywhere (I bought one at Wal-Mart). Newegg is $ 80 (see link). As I said, I have one of these, although I modified mine is very original.
