Baseball season is coming up and I need some help (Middle School Level)?
Background info: I'm 13, in 8th grade in a second-tier league for my school in Maine. I'm about 5' 2" (possibly more), and weigh 97 lbs. The most I can bench is 50, so I'm not that strong, but I do ten push-ups a day. I have weights at my house up to 20 lbs.
Couple of questions:
1. Easiest way to break a glove in. I have a new Rawlings Pro Series Special Edition if that helps.
2. Best exercise for the muscles that help you power the ball. My biggest problem last year is that when I hit the ball, it was nearly always on the ground, and normally right to the shortstop (I did not get a hit last year). Even though I've bulked up over the last year, I don't really know what the best exercises to do are.
3. I've had a problem with vibration before. It wasn't that much of a problem last year, since I used Easton VRS batting gloves, and a two-piece Easton SV12 bat, but it still hurt some. Any more in-depth measures?
1. Put some oil in it and tie it up for a couple days. Keep throwing a ball into it and it will be broken in, in no time.
2. Legs and abs. your strength comes from your core. Do leg press, lunges, squats, and one leg squats with a bench. For abs do core exercises, don't just do crunches for hours that just working show muscles. Do some planks, in push-up position but using ur elbows to support your weight do 5x for 30-60 secs.
3. For the vibration, your prolly just hitting on the inner part of the bat. Have your dad, mom, brother, sister, friends, etc. Throw some balls to you up near a fence so you don't have to chase them and really work on hitting the sweat spot everytime. Also, check the bat to see that its not dead.
