Who is the best pitcher in the modern era. (1920 onwards)?
Warren Spahn with 363 victories? Roger Clemens with 349 wins? Greg Maddux with 340 victories? Anyone else?
Great question ... I have to say Clemens by a hair. Clemens and Maddux are very similar in all these area ... Spahn pitched before the ball was live so you should have a much better than Clemens, Maddux or Ryan and he does not. Although Ryan is not near the list I, because there are always people who argue that it is one of the best. Launched before the steroids and their numbers are not even close ... The only argument for Spahn is their total of wins and Clemens and Maddox still have a chance of that, are still pitching.
