My mom consistently tells me I look pretty when I'm at my worst... do you think she's trying to sabotage me?
Okay, I did a secret test on her today: I put on this XS *mens* t shirt, one of those ugly baseball type ones with different colored sleeves or whatever, and I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, "Wow, this is really not flattering". Then I thought to myself, "Hmm... I bet my mom would claim I looked pretty in it". So I wore it today, and sure enough when she came in she said, "Hey, you look really pretty today!"
ALSO: She always says that my hair looks beautiful after I wake up and before I've styled it.
And before I was old enough to get a job and buy my old clothes, she refused to buy me any clothing that looked good on me (yes she admitted to this openly) and confessed to being jealous of my body one time!!!
So do you think she might be my enemy?
I'm not saying my mom isn't a nice person, because she is... or that I don't love her, which I do... I'm just saying she might be plotting against me.
I mean, I don't know your mom, and it's certainly possible she may have some jealousy issues. But it's more likely that she just loves you and wants to encourage you to have high self-esteem, since you ARE her beautiful daughter!
